What is the maximum file size for email attachments?

Last updated: July 9, 2024

There is a 10 MB size limit for email attachments in Pylon. This limit is set by our email provider to ensure reliable email delivery.

Understanding the attachment size limit

  • The maximum total size for an email, including all attachments, is 10 MB.

  • It's recommended to keep individual attachments smaller than 10 MB to account for the email body and other potential attachments.

  • This limit applies to all types of file attachments.

Note: The attachment size limit is a technical constraint of our email provider.

What to do if your file exceeds the size limit

If you need to send a file larger than 10 MB, consider these alternatives:

  1. Compress the file to reduce its size.

  2. Split large files into smaller parts and send them as separate emails.

  3. Use a file-sharing service (like Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer) and include a link to the file in your email instead of attaching it directly.

Error messages

If you attempt to send an email with attachments exceeding the 10 MB limit, you may receive an error message. This is expected behavior to prevent email delivery issues.
