How to delete user data for GDPR compliance

Last updated: September 30, 2024

To comply with GDPR and other data handling requirements or handle user deletion requests, Pylon provides a way to manually delete user data, including their conversations. This process can be initiated through the Data Retention settings in your Pylon account.

Steps to delete user data:

  1. Before you begin, be certain about the data you're requesting to delete, as this process is irreversible.

  2. Navigate to Settings -> Data retention (reachable through Cmd+K search). Alternatively, navigate directly to https://app.usepylon.com/settings/data-retention

  3. Follow the instructions on the form to submit your request for user data deletion

Note: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions within your Pylon account to access the Data Retention settings and submit deletion requests. You'll need both read and write permissions for Data Retention, found in the "Security" permissions subsection.
