Why can't I find my Microsoft Teams chats in the "Add Account" flow?

Last updated: August 12, 2025

For Microsoft Teams group chats, you link them to accounts through the standard Add Account flow (not from the Microsoft Teams app page, like you do for channels), so make sure you're following the steps as outlined here.

If you're in the "Add Account" flow, and you've selected "Microsoft Teams group chats", but the chats you're expecting to see aren't showing up, here are a few troubleshooting steps:

  1. First, check that the Microsoft Teams app is connected to Pylon, and that you have the correct Teams tenant connected.

  2. Next, verify that the group chat you're looking to add to Pylon is a shared group chat accessible from your tenant. This means the chat must show up in the left sidebar of your Teams tenant, under "chats". If you have to switch to your customer's tenant using the top right user account picker, then you are a guest in your customer's tenant, and there is no way for Pylon to access these chats.

  1. Check that the chat you're trying to add is a group chat, not a DM (this means there should be at least 3 people in the chat). Currently, Teams DMs are not supported.

  2. If you have followed these steps, and still do not see the chat showing up in the Add Account flow, please find any message in the specific chat in question, click the 3-dots menu for more options, and click "Copy Link". Then reach out to Pylon support with this link, which will help us debug the issue.
