Getting Started with Pylon <> Microsoft Teams Integration

Last updated: January 13, 2026

Pylon’s Microsoft Teams integration allows you to view, respond to, and track Microsoft Teams messages from your customers who operate exclusively from this platform. Messages from customer channels in Microsoft Teams are automatically tracked in Pylon.

Before you Begin:
You must have your own Microsoft Teams instance with at least 1 seat of "Microsoft Teams Essentials" to properly configure and establish this integration for your workspace.

Below is a comprehensive overview of the entire process start to finish:

  1. Install Pylon app in Microsoft Teams:

Note: You must be an owner of the team to install the Pylon app

    1. 📄 How do I install the Microsoft Teams Integration?

  2. Set up Teams channels:

    1. 📄 Set up Microsoft Teams channels for use with Pylon

  3. Link your Teams channels to Pylon through the "Add Accounts" flow

    1. 📄 How can I link Microsoft Teams channels to Pylon?

  4. (Optional) Configure Teams <> Slack mirroring

    1. 📄 How can I set up Microsoft Teams <> Slack mirroring?

  5. (Optional) if messages are not syncing after completing setup:

    1. 📄 Troubleshooting message sync between Slack and Microsoft Teams channels

    2. If messages from Pylon to Teams are failing: Try having the Pylon user who set up the Teams integration reauthorize the integration from the Apps Directory > Teams tile. This resolves "BotNotInConversationRoster" errors that occur when the bot is not properly part of the conversation roster.

NOTE: Important Tenant and Ownership Requirements

Customer-hosted channels are not supported. Teams/channels must originate from your own Microsoft Teams tenant.

You must be an owner of the team to install the Pylon app. If you were invited to join a customer-originated team, you cannot add the Pylon app from your side.

• In such cases, we recommend replicating the same team group within your instance so these users can be invited.
