Porting a phone number into Pylon

Porting transfers ownership of your existing phone number from your current carrier to Pylon. Your number stays the same — only the underlying carrier changes. Under the hood, Pylon ports numbers into Telnyx, our telephony provider. Once the port completes, all calls and messages to that number will route through to Pylon.

This process may take 3-7 business days, or even longer if there are complications with the porting.

  1. From the Phone page, click "Add Phone Number" and select "Port an existing number"

  2. Fill out the information on the form. Here is an example of porting a number from Twilio.

  3. Provide a Letter of Authorization. For your convenience, you can download the LOA template and upload a signed version.

  4. After submitting the form, you can track the progress on the Phone page.
