Overview

Pylon's Data Migration service is designed for teams moving off a previous support platform - such as Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud, Intercom, Freshdesk, or others - who want their historical support data brought into Pylon. This ensures your team retains access to past ticket history and knowledge base articles without starting from scratch, it also powers AI capabilities such as AI assistant.

What's Included

  • Closed ticket migration — We migrate your historical closed tickets (conversations that can no longer receive new replies) into Pylon.

Open tickets can not be migrated - We are using your legacy system API endpoints and Pylon API endpoints to migrate the data, conversations can not be continued.

  • Knowledge base article migration — Existing help center articles can be migrated into Pylon's knowledge base.

  • 30-minute setup call with our migrations team.

  • Async Q&A support — Our team is available to answer questions about APIs and migration logistics asynchronously throughout the process.

Scope & Expectations

The Data Migration SKU is focused specifically on moving your data — it does not include a full implementation. Here's what to expect:

  • Only closed tickets are migrated by Pylon. Open ticket cutover is managed by your team; we can provide documentation to support you.

  • The setup review is question-based. Our team will answer specific questions about your Pylon configuration, but proactive setup evaluation and best-practice audits are not included.

  • AI Agents and Account Intelligence are typically configured by your team after your initial go-live. If you'd like to prioritize these differently, you're free to do so.

Pricing

Data Migration is priced based on volume — specifically, the number of tickets and/or knowledge base articles you'd like to migrate. Contact your Pylon account team for a quote tailored to your data set.
