How to automatically add Pylon to Slack channels?

Last updated: February 23, 2026

This is only available for public shared Slack channels, private channels will need to have the app invited to them.

  1. Navigate to Account Configuration page

  2. Locate the 'External Slack channel linking' section

  1. Specify the naming convention for your public shared Slack channels. We use #pylon-customername and other common patterns are #ext-pylon-customername or #ext-customername

  1. All public shared Slack channels that are created that match this naming convention going forward will have Pylon automatically added and a corresponding account will be created and linked to the channel in Pylon.
