Why do customers receive a message from Pylon when joining a connected Slack channel?
Last updated: February 11, 2026
When a customer joins a Slack channel that's connected to Pylon, they'll receive a one-time direct message from the Pylon bot, with the format:
#channel-name is connected to Pylon. Your messages in this channel may be visible to members of the [Your Company] Team in the Pylon web application.
This privacy disclosure is required by Slack as part of Pylon's listing in the Slack Marketplace. The message is only sent to external customer users, not to members of your own team.
This is purely an informational notice; it doesn't affect how Pylon works in the channel, and it cannot be disabled.
