How does user provisioning work in Pylon?
Last updated: August 14, 2025
Pylon does not automatically import new users from Slack. However, new users can be automatically provisioned when they log in to Pylon for the first time, depending on your account settings.
Auto-provisioning settings
By default, Pylon allows anyone with your domain to log in and creates an account for them automatically. You can control this behavior and set default roles for new users on the Users page.
For stricter control, you can also set your workspace to "Invite Only" mode, which prevents any automatic account creation regardless of domain. This setting can be found in Settings > Users > Access Settings.
To adjust auto-provisioning settings:
Navigate to the Users page in your Pylon account
At the top of the page, you'll find two important settings:
"Everyone with my domain can login" toggle: Turn this off to prevent automatic account creation for new users
Default role selector: Choose the role that will be automatically assigned to newly provisioned users.
"Invite Only" setting: Enable this in Access Settings to require manual invitations for all new users, overriding domain-based auto-provisioning
