How does search work in Pylon?
Last updated: September 3, 2025
Pylon offers three different search options, each with its own capabilities and limitations:
1. Issues View Search
When using the search function directly on the issues view:
It searches the contents of issue messages
Results are limited to tickets from the last 90 days
This search is useful for quick lookups based on ticket content
2. Sidebar Search
For more comprehensive search results, use the search function in the left sidebar of the Pylon workspace:
Searches the entire content of all tickets
Provides more complete and accurate results
Accessible at https://app.usepylon.com/search
3. Command Search
To search across all objects in Pylon including accounts, contacts, issues, articles, and more as well as navigate to different pages in the app or run commands, use the CMD-K shortcut to bring up Command Search.
Best Practices
To ensure you find all relevant information:
Start with the command search for thorough results
Use the issues view search only for quick scans of recent ticket titles or initial messages
Remember: The issues view search is limited in scope. For comprehensive searches across all ticket content, always use command search.
