How can I tell if an email has been opened by a customer?

Our app provides the ability to track when emails are opened by recipients. This feature can be useful for understanding engagement and follow-up timing. Here's what you need to know about email tracking:

How Email Tracking Works

Email tracking in our app uses pixel technology. When an email is opened, a tiny, invisible pixel is loaded, signaling that the email has been viewed.

Viewing Email Open Information

To see if and when an email was opened:

  1. Navigate to the conversation or email thread in question

  2. Look for the email tracking information, typically displayed near the sent email

Limitations

It's important to note that email tracking may not always be 100% accurate due to the following factors:

  • Recipients can disable image loading in their email clients, which prevents the tracking pixel from loading

  • Some email clients or security software may block tracking pixels by default

  • Opening an email in preview mode might not trigger the tracking pixel

Privacy Considerations

Always be mindful of privacy regulations and recipient preferences when using email tracking features. Some jurisdictions may require disclosure of tracking methods to email recipients.
