How do I merge duplicate accounts?

Merging duplicate accounts can help maintain a clean and organized customer database. However, there are some important considerations to keep in mind when attempting to merge accounts.

Steps to Merge Accounts

  1. Navigate to the Account page for the account you want to keep (the account you want to merge into).

  2. Click Account settings at the bottom of the left sidebar of the account page.

  3. Scroll to the Danger zone section and click Merge.

  4. In the merge dialog, enter the name or ID of the duplicate account you want to merge.

  5. Review the warning message and click Merge if you're sure you want to proceed.

Merging from the Accounts list

You can also merge directly from the Accounts list: select the duplicate accounts using the checkboxes, then click Merge in the action bar that appears. In the dialog, choose which account to keep as the primary account before confirming.

If merged accounts have linked Slack channels

  • Slack channels from merged accounts will be added to new combined account

Note: Merging accounts cannot be undone. Always double-check before confirming a merge operation.
