Do edited broadcasts re-notify Slack channels?

When you edit a broadcast message that has already been sent, the changes will update the existing messages in all Slack channels without sending new notifications. This allows you to quietly correct typos or update information without disturbing your users with additional notifications.

How to edit a broadcast

  1. Locate the broadcast you want to edit in your broadcasts list

  2. Click the edit button

  3. Make your desired changes to the message

  4. Save your changes

When you see the confirmation modal asking if you want to "Send broadcast", don't worry - editing a broadcast will only update the existing messages, not send new notifications.

This feature is particularly useful when you need to:

  • Fix typos or errors in a sent message

  • Update information that has changed

  • Add or modify content in an existing broadcast
